Dear Editor

People are brainwashed in a myriad of ways for a variety of unethical purposes.

Each example of brainwashing below is to persuade others that the lie is the truth.

Professor Syunichi Yamashita of Nagasaki University spearheads a Japanese Government’s brainwashing campaign to quell radiation exposure fears.

He (now dubbed Dr Brainwasher) is Japan’s Fukushima Radiation Health Risk advisor.

Professor Yamashita issues advice such as:  ‘Radiation doesn’t affect people who are smiling.  Only those who are worried.  This has been clearly demonstrated by animal studies.’  ‘If you laugh, radiation won’t get you.’ (‘Fukushima victim exposes Japanese government’s attempted bizarre brainwashing of radiation victims’,, 21/8/13)

Queensland’s fluoridation promoting equivalents use platitudes such as ‘safe and effective’; ‘no adverse effects ever found’; ‘Townsville has been fluoridated for decades and no one has ever been harmed’ and ‘only crackpots and conspiracy theorists oppose fluoridation’.

Quoting Abraham Lincoln, ‘… you may fool all of the people some of the time, you can even fool some of the people all of the time; but you can’t fool all of the people all of the time.’

Neither can those professionals who hoodwink decision makers into believing their spiel that fluoridation is neither a mass treatment of communities, nor unethical.

Yours truly

Ailsa B
