Dear Joshua,

In your article ( http://portlandor.about.com/b/2013/05/28/portland-voters-say-no-to-fluoride.htm ) you write, “Portland has a tradition of being nontraditional. That extends to the city’s attitude towards fluoride. Portland remains the only city among the nation’s 30 largest metropolitan areas to not fluoridate its drinking water.”

However, have you considered that – in an international context – Portland is actually in great company, and in the vast majority? See for yourself: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=FRIdsxT3IGc#t=3957s

Portland is not an oddball at all. In fact, it is keeping very prestigious company. Think about it 🙂

Sincerely,
