Dear Mayor, Council,

I have recently been informed about the commendable efforts of Chyina Lee and Drew Finlay, to protect your community from water fluoridation. I hope each of you will take the time to learn of the valid ethical and scientific concerns that support the views of the aforementioned community members.

You may wish to start by reading the book, The Case Against Fluoride by Dr. Paul Connett, Dr. James Beck, and Dr. Spedding Micklem. ISBN: 9781603582872. According to Dr. Hardy Limeback, BSc, DDS, PhD, past President of the Canadian Association for Dental Research, former Head of Preventive Dentistry at the University of Toronto, and expert Panelist for the 2006 NRC Report on fluoride:

“For anyone who has ever wondered why cities add fluoride to water – and questioned whether they should. Written with clear and easy-to-read prose, and supporting citations, The Case Against Fluoride carefully lays out the arguments against fluoridation and reasons why it should be discontinued. The authors examine the evidence on fluoridation and conclude convincingly that it should now be considered harmful and ineffective.”

If you are not able to acquire a copy of the book in an appropriate time-frame, you may find the free online video, Professional Perspectives on Water Fluoridation, to be a suitable alternative. This film presents a powerful indictment of the water fluoridation program through interviews with a Nobel Laureate in Medicine, three scientists from the National Research Council’s landmark review on fluoride, as well as dentists, medical doctors, and leading researchers in the field.

Please do not just accept the word of the local and state dental lobbies. Do some deeper research and then challenge their assertions of “safe and effective.” Your community’s health and basic rights depend on your actions or inaction.

Did you know there are at LEAST 50 scientifically and ethically valid reasons to oppose fluoridation? Learn more.
